It is certainly unnecessary for us to introduce the world-famous hit “The One and Only,” originally written by Nik Kershaw and recorded by Chesney Hawkes.
This song, frequently on the airwaves in the early 1990s, gave us the idea of creating something new in the classical crossover style. Vaclav Krahulik, David’s close collaborator and accompanist on the piano, discovered a similarity between this song and a composition by Franz Liszt called Valée d’Obermann. The arrangement, comprised of only the piano, the cello, and percussion effects, captures the spirit of our version.
We hope the video above fills your hearts with peace and joy.
